Betty White

Betty White, 90, of El Dorado, Arkansas passed away peacefully at her home on April 30, 2024. She was born on April 1, 1934 to Elmore and Mamie Dollar.

Following her graduation from Huttig High School she accepted a job with Lion Oil. After retirement she fulfilled her lifelong dream of volunteering with the Medical Center of South Arkansas Auxiliary which was a perfect fit for her caring and fun personality.

She was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She loved her church family and attended faithfully for as long as she was able.

Betty was a people person who continued to collect friends throughout every stage of her life. She had an incredible gift of humor and frequently made the most ordinary events hilarious. She was fully present in every interaction and to be with her was to feel special and loved.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Joe White, who she always said was good through and through; brothers Jerry Dollar and Virgil Dollar and nephew Roger Dollar.

Survivors include her stepdaughter Cheryl Ellis of Gravette, AR; grandchildren Joe Ellis (Carol) of Gravette, AR and Nikki Jones (Neal) of Bella Vista, AR; niece Ronda Harbour (Cliff) of El Dorado, AR; niece-in-law Lara Thornton Dollar; nephews Jon Dollar of Tulsa, OK, Dr. Mark Dollar (Lisa) of West Monroe, LA and Scott Dollar of Hemphill, TX; 7 great-grandchildren and 10 great-nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Rachel Harbour and Hannah Harbour for the years of joyful, loving care. You were a delightful gift to Aunt Betty.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 6, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Young’s Funeral Home. Private interment at Rest Haven was entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.
